Olympian Pole Vaulter
Anicka Newell is a track and field athlete competing in the pole vault. She made her Olympic debut for Team Canada at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio and has gone on to win numerous competitions. Her road to the Tokyo 2021 games seems secure as she cleared the Olympic standard height and set a new personal best in her first competition of 2021. Anicka graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Exercise Sports Science and a minor in nutrition. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, Anicka was training for the 2020 Summer Olympics.
