While in the midst of our “12 Days of Tohi” campaign back in December, 2018, the team decided that we wanted to give back to the Kansas City community by donating Tohi to a local organization. We left it up to our followers on Facebook and Instagram to decide which organization we would donate to. After reviewing the submissions, Harvesters Food Network was the chosen winner and we could not be more thrilled to have donated to such a deserving cause!
Harvesters Food Network is a regional food bank that provides food and household items to more than 760 not-for-profit agencies across 26 counties in Northwestern Missouri and Northeastern Kansas. These agencies include emergency food pantries, homeless shelters, community kitchens, and children’s homes, among many others. According to its website, 353,380 people are food insecure and missing an estimated 60.3 million meals annually in Harvesters’ service area. That equates to 13.9 percent, or 1 in 7 people. Harvesters notes that children are often among those most in need of food.
This week, members of our team dropped off trays of Tohi at Harvesters to be given to individuals and families across Kansas City. Thank you to our followers for the great recommendation, we love giving back to our community!
